Double Galla Bag

Double Galla Bag

With tribal inspiration these hand picked vintage fabrics have been remodelled to create some Eastern Soul magic. Scouring through piles of fabrics I searched for craftsmanship, history and colour to create pieces that tell stories of gypsy travel, culture and art.

Each panel chosen was originally a Galla, which was used by Banjara woman to cover the nape of their neck and they date back around 70 years. With embroidery taking months to complete each piece is hand stitched with geometric patterns and finished with the typical Banjara mirror work, rustic hand made tassels and cowrie shells. The strap made from a vintage village belt adding to its authenticity and making it a completely individual piece.
